Purchases & Refunds

No. All courses are non-refundable. Before you buy a course, please: (1) preview the course platform; (2) watch all the free preview content; (3) read the full course description; (4) read the curriculum outline; (5) read the course's reviews. I have provided you with this information, so that you may know what you are buying beforehand. That way you can decide before purchasing, if you don't like the way I talk, my teaching style, or if you can't find what you are looking for in the curriculum outline. I have tried to make enough information available to you, so that you will have a very good idea about what the course includes, excludes and what my teaching style is like. If you would like to know something specific about the course before you purchase it, please contact me. I will be honest and clear about whether the course will give you what you expect to get. After all, I want happy customers and positive reviews 🙂

Online Courses

No. The courses offered on this website are not accredited, neither do they provide you with accredited qualifications. They are informal lifestyle courses similar to the type of courses offered on Udemy and Skillshare. You will only receive a certificate of completion when you finish the courses on this website.
When you enrol in a course, you will be provided access to the course forum, and you will be given the instructor's email address. The course forum is the primary support platform. Students can search for answers, post their questions and help other students by responding to their questions. Should the forum not provide you with the support you need, you may email the instructor directly. But please use the forum first, so that other students may benefit from the answer to your question.
Click here to preview the course platform for free. Alternatively, you can see a preview of the course platform by navigating to the "Curriculum" tab on the course page. Here you will see a green eye icon next to some of the lessons. This icon indicates that you can preview the content for free. Click the green eye icon. You will be directed to the course platform where you can preview selected parts of the course for free. When you buy a course, you will gain access to the entire online curriculum. You need to be connected to the internet, logged into your account, and then select the course. You will then be directed to the course platform, where you will see the curriculum outline on the left sidebar, and the content of the course in the main window. You will watch, read and/or download the content in the main window. When you are finished with that particular content, you will click "Next" at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will load the next section of the course. You will keep proceeding through the sections until you have completed the course.
Unfortunately not, because they are online courses. However, each course does contain downloadable resources which you can save to your computer. These resources include the course notes, recipes, PDF articles, spreadsheet files and printable charts etc. You cannot download the videos. You need to be logged in to watch the video lectures, and to complete the quizzes.

You must complete all the sections of a course in order to receive your certificate of completion. In other words, your course progress should be 100%. This means you must go through all the lessons and attempt all the quizzes, even if you fail them.

If you have completed 100% of the course: Login to your profile and select the "Certificates" tab. If your course progress is 100%, your certificate will be visible in this section. Alternatively, go to the course page, scroll down, and it should say "You have finished this course", and you should see a button that says "Certificate". Click the "Certificate" button, and you will be able to download the certificate to your computer, or share it on social media.

Once logged in, go to your profile. In your profile, click on the "Settings" tab. In the "General" section, you will see fields for your first name, last name and nickname. Type your first name and last name in the spaces provided. Then where it says "Display name publicly as", select the dropdown and choose which name you want to appear on your certificate. Then click the "Save Changes" button. Now, when you access your certificate, your preferred name will appear on your certificate.
Go to the login page, and please click the link that says "Forgot Password". You will then be sent an email to reset the password for your account. Click the link in the email to reset your password, and follow the steps to create a new password for your account.
By default, your profile is public. This means that other enrolled students can see the courses you are enrolled in, as well as your profile picture and biography. You can change this by navigating to your profile page, select the "Settings" tab, then select "Publicity" tab, and untick the check box which makes your profile public. In short, the steps are as follows: Profile -> Settings -> Publicity -> Untick the check box.

Events & Workshops

I do not host workshops on a regular basis (i.e. every week, or every month etc.), but rather on an ad hoc basis. At the moment, I usually host about 5 events per year. However, due to Covid-19, all my scheduled events for 2020 have been cancelled, and I will not schedule new events until crowds are permitted to gather again. To be notified of my next event in your area, please sign-up here. No spam, I promise. I will just send you an email when I announce an upcoming event.
If there are no upcoming events listed, it means that I have not finalised any new event dates yet. Also, I may still be working on finalising venues and dates in your area. I usually announce events and open bookings 1-2 months beforehand. Please also note that I host ad hoc events, rather than weekly or monthly classes. To be notified of my next event in your area, please sign-up here. No spam, I promise. I will just send you an email when I announce an upcoming event. You can choose to be notified about specific classes (i.e. only soap bars) and/or specific areas (i.e. soap bar classes in Johannesburg). That way, you won't receive all my event notifications. Trust me, I hate spam as much as you do 🙂
A demonstration workshop offers a demonstration-only lecture. Whereas, an interactive workshop offers everything in the demonstration workshop, plus you will also get to make the products yourself during the class and take it home. Demonstration workshops are cheaper than interactive classes, and are usually offered in areas which lack a suitable venue for an interactive class. In a demonstration workshop, you will still learn the same material as students in an interactive class, and you will watch me make the product, except you won't get to practice and apply what you've learned during the class.
